PiInject is the industry solution for plastic injection moulding from our PiSolutions modular building block system. PiInject provides you with a comprehensive solution which, in addition to collecting and visualising basic data, focuses on monitoring and maintaining quality and traceability.
We want to understand our customers’ processes and part of this is the professional collection of customer requirements. This guarantees a successful introduction of the system, as well as system operation.
The foundation of a good MES provides a secure and stable interface connection to the machines and peripherals. This is complemented by consistent and high-performing data transmission and storage. It supports new standards, such as OPC UA / Euromap 77 from the industry 4.0 environment – nothing gets in the way of integrating with pre-existing machines.
PiInject – the industry modules
Dataset / Recipe Management
Running a multitude of tools requires a safe and simplified handling of the related machine parameter sets.
Scope of functions dataset management:
- Central storage and backup
- Upload and download of data records
- Version management
- Comparing data records
- Traceability
- Recording data sets with relevant target parameters
- Authorisation matrix injection moulding machines, product type, tool (option – Medical Solution)
- Electronic signature module (option – Medical Solution)
Status / Part Classification
The classification of downtime reasons, which are not automatically captured by the injection moulding machine, is important for determining machine availability. The classification is carried out on site or via a mobile input terminal. The same function can be used for the classification of bad part reasons.
Process Data Management
In the PiInject industry solution, the central maintenance of process data and configuration of the process values to be recorded, as well as monitoring, are included in the scope of functions via a dialogue. A historical evaluation of the configured process data per cycle is also part of the functional scope.
Tool / Raw Material Management
In tool and material management, customer-specific adaptations are often necessary, as the requirements are different for each customer, e.g. due to software systems already in use. The MES PiSolutions database covers most requirements. The visualisation is implemented from our pool of dialogues.
Energy Monitoring
Information is displayed graphically in a dashboard, which evaluates the current performance over the day, shift or job. The data can be recorded directly via the Euromap interface or, for older injection moulding machines, via our energy measurement package.
IMM Standard (Euromap) Interface
For injection moulding machines equipped with a standard interface such as EM15, EM63 or EM77, data acquisition is based on this. We have developed the connection for the following well-known injection moulding machine manufacturers and support the various software generations in each case.
- Arburg
- Engel
- Fanuc
- KraussMaffei
- Netstal
- Sumitomo Demag
IMM Digital Interface
For injection moulding machines without a standard interface, the connection is made via the digital interface by wiring digital signals from the machine. The PiDigibox control sends the processed data to the PiInject server via the Ethernet interface.
Interface Periphal Devices
Our goal is the fully integrated injection moulding machine. Not only data from the injection moulding machines, but also from peripheral equipment is collected.
The connection of the following peripheral devices is of interest to our customers:
- Optical inspection systems
- Hot runner control devices
- Metering devices
- Dryers
- Cooling devices
- Temperature control devices
For systems such as automation line for pipette tips, downstream automation, testing and packaging processes can be connected. This leads to a fully integrated system and isolated solutions in the area of data acquisition are a thing of the past.
